Historic Avenue Cultural Center Block Party

Join us for the third annual Block Party, a public event and open house at the Historic Avenue Cultural Center built around exploring and reflecting on the history of the Avenue. Throughout the day, there is a killer lineup of musicians, performers, speakers, educators, food, a selection of historic films and art activities.

Along with honoring the Avenue’s past, we’ll have performances throughout the day, an update on what’s happening as part of the Civil Rights and Cultural Heritage District Plan, short-fire presentations from regional scholars and community advocates, performances by the Excelsior Band, Jairus Dixon, Symone French and Soul Food Cypher, and food and drink from A Touch of Class and Urban Dawgs.

Historic Avenue Cultural Center is located at 564 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. and will be free and open to the public. This event is generously supported by the Mobile County Commission.
